Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its result. Grainger County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the exchange. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Standard server and analytics logs can record technical facts about a visit, including:

- The referring site, when available

Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

An outside company powers each search box. Information entered there is governed by that company's policy, including its retention and sharing rules. Grainger County Criminal History does not control those practices. Review the provider's privacy terms before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links can lead to a sheriff, court, Tennessee agency, legal resource, advertiser, or search service. The destination's privacy policy controls once the visitor leaves this site. Some advertising providers may use their own systems to track activity across sites and choose ads.

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be processed by:
- Search companies handling a visitor's query
- Analytics vendors measuring traffic and performance

- A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Common technical and organizational safeguards are used to protect information received by the site. No internet service can guarantee complete security, so Grainger County Criminal History cannot promise that a breach or unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. A report that a minor supplied personal data will be reviewed so that the information can be removed where appropriate.

Code Ann. §§ 10-7-501 through 10-7-515, governs access to Tennessee government records, not private-site files. Tennessee registry dissemination and misuse rules appear in Tenn. Code Ann. §§ 40-39-206 and 40-39-208. These official-record laws do not expand this site's collection practices. A visitor may still request:
